Most people do not even think about how to do Off-Page SEO until they start seeing the results from their on-page optimization efforts. Having good support on the web for your website, like getting mentioned on external websites, helps a lot in getting your rankings better. In this blog, I am going to write about how you can achieve that!
Off-Page SEO refers to techniques that can be used to improve the position of a website on the search engine results page (SERPs). Many people associate off-page SEO with link building but it is not only that.

In general, knowing how to do Off-Page SEO has to do with promotion methods, beyond website design for the purpose of ranking a website rank higher in the search results. Unlike On-Page SEO, Off-page SEO refers to activities you can perform outside the boundaries of your website.
In this blog post, we’re going to cover:
On-page SEO involves activities that you have complete control over, whereas off-page SEO is sometimes out of your hands. For example, it’s simple to ensure that your content is of high quality, but you can’t force someone to link to your website if they don’t want to.
The most important Off-Page SEO techniques are:
This is the most popular and effective Off-Page SEO method. just by building external links to your website, you are trying to gather as many ‘votes’ as you can, so that you can bypass your competitors and rank higher.
For example, if anyone likes this article and links to it from his or her website or blog, this is equivalent to telling browsers that this page contains valuable information.
Search engines will consider this during the ranking process when making a decision on which pages to display at the top of the results for the definition ‘Off-Page SEO.’
These are the ways to do this method:
Social Networking Sites
Create an account or profile on any big social networking site like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, etc.
This will make your online network extended and connect to your friends and many people by sharing things with each other. Most of all it will build your online reputation.
This is the best way to promote your website, by creating a blog many people will visit your website and keep up to date with your latest posts. Be sure to have quality content that is related to your website. Blogging is a great source for link building because:
- The first is that if you boost your page properly to the right people (via social media marketing – more on this below), great content will earn you natural links.
- Second, even if you secure links, your website will not rank if it lacks quality content. Content that satisfies user intent is a ranking factor that is more crucial than links. You will not be able to rank if these two factors do not exist (good content and links).
Also, having an infographic will help the visitor to understand your blog easily.
Post comments on other blogs within the same niche as yours, which allow you to add a link in the comments section. These links can then be crawled by search engines, helping to point them toward your site. These blogs are commonly referred to as “Do-Follow” Blogs.
This is for blog marketing, find a forum that has the same niche, a topic as yours, and get involved within that forum.
Reply to the threads, answer some questions, give advice, and do anything you can in that forum. It will help you to build connection, reputation, and promotion of your website too.
If you have used any of your own photos or images on your website, then you can share these photos on many of the major photo-sharing websites like Flickr, Picasa, Photo Bucket, etc.
Other people will be able to see them and comment on them, hopefully following a link to your site. You can do this on Social networking as well like Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Just like photo sharing, if you have any videos that you have used on your site, then you can submit them to sites like; YouTube, Vimeo, etc.
This will allow people to find your content in other ways. Again, you can do this too on Social networking as well like Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Social Media Marketing
Social media is part of ‘off-Page SEO’ and if you think about it, it’s also a form of link building. It should be noted that almost all of the links you get from social media sites are “no-follow” but this does not mean that they do not have any value.
This is not as popular as it used to be in the past but it is still a good way to get traffic to your website. Depending on your niche you can find websites to promote your content:
Link building was an easy way to manipulate the search engine algorithms and many spammers tried to take advantage of this by building link networks which gradually lead to the creation of what is generally known as black hat SEO.

My Final Thoughts on How To Do Off-Page SEO
Knowing how to do off-page SEO is equally as important as on-page SEO. You must do both if you really want your SEO strategies to be successful. If you want to boost your search engine ranking, it’s time to get off your site and network with other industry bloggers and site owners.
My advice to you is to focus first on creating a quality website with awesome content, and then work on off-page SEO to get links that will help your rankings.
Above all, search engine optimization is not a fly-by-night marketing strategy. You should approach it with the understanding that the efforts you make today will pay off in the future, increasing your search rankings and resulting in you in the success you aim for.
