Off page, SEO refers to techniques that can be used to improve the position of a website in the search engine results page (SERPs). Many people associate off-page SEO with link building but it is not only that.
In this blog post, I’ll tell you how to do Off Page SEO. But, if you are confused about On-page SEO and Off-Page SEO, read this.
In general, off Page SEO has to do with promotion methods, beyond website design for the purpose of ranking a website rank higher in the search results. Unlike On- page SEO, Off-page SEO refers to activities you can perform outside the boundaries of your website.
The most important are:
This is the most popular and effective Off-Page SEO method. just by building external links to your website, you are trying to gather as many ‘votes’ as you can, so that you can bypass your competitors and rank higher.
These are the ways to do this method:
Social Networking Sites
Create an account or profile to any big social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ etc.
This will make your online network extended and connects to your friends and many people by sharing things with each other. Most of all it will build your online reputation.
This is the best way to promote your website, by creating a blog many people will visit your website and keep up to date with your latest posts. Be sure to have a quality content that is related to your website.
Also, having infographic will help the visitor to understand your blog easily.
Post comments on other blogs within the same niche as yours, which allow you to add a link in the comments section. These links can then be crawled by search engines, helping to point them towards your site. These blogs are commonly referred to as “Do-Follow” Blogs.
This is for the blog marketing, find a forum that has the same niche, a topic as yours and get involved within that forum.
Reply to the threads, answer some questions, give advice and anything you can in that forum. It will help you to build connection, reputation, and promotion of your website too.
If you have used any of your own photos or images on your website, then you can share these photos on many of the major photo sharing websites like Flickr, Picasa, Photo Bucket, etc.
Other people will be able to see them and comment on them, hopefully following a link to your site. You can do this in Social networking as well like Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Just like photo sharing, if you have any videos that you have used on your site, then you can submit them to sites like; YouTube, Vimeo, etc.
This will allow people to find your content in other ways. Again, you can do this too in Social networking as well like Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Social Media Marketing
Social media is part of ‘off-site SEO’ and if you think about it, it’s also a form of link building. It should be noted that almost all of the links you get from social media sites are “no follow” but this does not mean that they do not have any value.
This is not as popular as it used to be in the past but it is still a good way to get traffic to your website. Depending on your niche you can find web sites like reddit.com, stumbleupon.com, scoop.it, and delicious.com to promote your content
Link building was an easy way to manipulate the search engine algorithms and many spammers tried to take advantage of this by building link networks which gradually lead to the creation of what is generally known as black hat SEO.
