Knowing how to do keyword research is an essential part of any successful SEO campaign. It’s also something I’ve been guilty of cutting back on in the past. I knew it had to be done, but I wasn’t sure how to go about it.
As a result, my campaigns consistently performed less well than they could have. When you’re ready to begin keyword research, approach it the same way you would in any other blog post— with meticulous planning and attention to detail.
Keyword research is the cornerstone of a good blog and is matched only by creating quality content. Keyword research that is done well accomplishes two goals:
- It makes it easier for the proper individuals to find you and
- It helps your articles and pages rank higher in search engines. You won’t have to spend money on pay-per-click (PPC) adverts if you do it correctly.
But don’t worry in this article I will show you how to do keyword research. Here are the things that you need to know:

Google Keyword Planner
In order to use the google keyword planner, you must have a Google Ads (previously as Google AdWords) account and log in on it. Then click tools and pick keyword planner. See the picture below:
With that, you will be able to find top keywords. You can use phrases, websites, or categories. Using your product or service, you can use “seed keywords”. Seed keywords are the foundation of your keywords, it is the description for the main keywords. An example of seed keywords: cotton gloves, low-fat milk, sticky glue.
It gives the exact same keywords to everyone that uses it. You just type anything you want as the main keyword in any search engine website like google and you will see the keywords that are mostly searched in the search engine. See the example below:
This is a group of 4 categories:
- Buy now keywords – These are the keywords that use for purchasing some things. Example: Buy, Coupon, Discount, Deal, Shipping
- Product Keywords – These are searches that focus on a category, brand, or service. Example: Review, Top 10, Best, Brand name, Product name, Cheap, Expensive, Price, Affordable, Comparison
- Information Keywords – These are the searches that are looking for a tutorial, ways to do something, and to get information on a certain topic. Example: How to, the Best way to, Ways to
- Tire kicker keywords -These are searches where you want to find something or get the files. Example: Free, Torrent, Download, …. for free
There is a free browser toolbar that evaluates keywords, it is MozBar. Use it and you will see the information in each keyword you search.
My Favourite Keyword Research Tool
If you’re serious about SEO, you should strongly consider investing in a keyword research tool. The research tool is for regenerating keywords. It is good to find the best keyword for your topic, blog, forum, website, etc.
You can use Google Keyword Planner but I find it annoying and difficult to use. I use RankIQ personally. I find it much easier to use.
Rank IQ is a cloud-based software designed to assist bloggers and content creators in getting their blog articles on the top page of Google. As a new blogger, you can use RankIQ to improve old blog content or generate whole new ones. It can help you reach your goal of generating organic search traffic to your website.
RankIQ is software that tells you what words to use in an article to improve your chances of ranking on the first page of Google for your chosen keyword.
You enter your desired keyword into RankIQ, and the software searches Google for the best results using artificial intelligence. These top articles are essentially highly ranked on Google for a reason. They are deemed to be the best results for that particular word.
